FOCUS

This is an invite only program.

All players must be of AAA caliber and consideration. The focus is complete skill development. All individual skills will be focused and taught not only by Larry and Rob, but by some of the best coaches the Midwest has to offer. It is our goal to give your player the skill set they need to continue in a high level of hockey. The skates are designed for the player who is committed to becoming the best they can be. Accountability and structure make this the best training program Chicago has to offer.

COACHES

Larry Pedrie

Larry Pedrie has been coaching for over 30 years. Larry’s coaching career began in 1981 at Ferris State University (FSU) where he was a 4-year letter winner from 1977-81. He spent the next 15 years as a Division I college hockey coach, including 9 years as an assistant coach with stops at FSU (81-84), The University of Illinois at Chicago (84-87), and The University of Michigan (87-90). During his time as a Division I assistant coach he developed a reputation as one of the top recruiters in college hockey in both recognizing talent and successfully recruiting that talent to his institution. Larry became a Division I head coach in 1990 at UIC (90-96) and held that position for six years. When UIC dropped hockey in 1996 he was offered a coaching position at the USNTDP in Ann Arbor in the program’s inaugural season under then Head Coach Jeff Jackson (current Head Coach at the University of Notre Dame). He declined the offer and since that time has been involved in youth hockey in Chicago. Larry is one of the only youth coaches in the Chicago area with a Division I college coaching background. Larry has a proven track record for identifying talent, being instrumental in developing talent, and assisting a vast number of players in advancing their careers to the next level. He has a wide range of current contacts in junior, college, and professional hockey and maintains these communication lines on a regular basis. Larry’s son Vince currently plays for the current #1 ranked division I hockey program Penn State. Larry is currently the Director of Hockey for Team Illinois AAA hockey Club.

Rob Hutson

Rob is originally from Canada. He has been involved in coaching youth hockey for 20 years. He played junior hockey in Bellingham, Washington in the BCJHL. From there he was recruited to play Division I hockey at UIC for Larry Pedrie. After college, he went on to play professionally in the ECHL, WPHL and UHL. After retiring from playing, Rob went on to direct youth hockey programs in Michigan and the St Louis area then landed in Chicago where he has been involved with youth hockey for the last 10 years. While in Michigan, he served on the governing board and was responsible for the coaching education program. Rob has a proven track record in developing great technical skaters. He has worked with and coached several players that have been drafted including Luke Witkowski and Clayton Keller. Rob’s passion is developing kids to the highest level they are individually capable of. Rob currently coaches the Team Illinois AAA Club 2003 and 2004 teams. He is also the head coach for Toronto Pro Hockey 2004 World Selects team.
